Lady Robs Bank With A Toy Gun To Pay For Sister's Cancer Treatment.
A Lebanese woman, Sali Hafiz, Rob's a bank with a toy gun she got from her nephew. She robbed a bank in Beirut on Wednesday, September 14.
She made away with thousands of dollars as she claims it was for her sister's cancer treatment. Local media reports that the 28-year-old suspect’s sibling was diagnosed with cancer.
During the robbery, Sali held a live Facebook stream, where she could be heard screaming and yelling at the employers to bring out the cash as her accomplices seal the entrance of the bank.“I am Sali Hafiz, I came today… to take the deposits of my sister who is dying in hospital.
I did not come to kill anyone or to start a fire… I came to claim my rights.
It was later revealed that Sali came to Rob for her money. In an interview with Lebanese broadcaster, she revealed that she came for the $13,000 of the $20,000, her family had deposited, so that they can pay for her sister's cancer treatment which cost $50,000.
An AFP correspondent who arrived at the scene of the crime said gasoline had been poured inside the banking hall during the heist, which lasted under an hour.
Sali Hafiz and suspected accomplices escaped through a smashed window at the back of the bank before security forces arrived, the correspondent said.
