Futhermore, the award’s gala night confirmed for 30th October, will feature music from the legendary juju singer and master guitarist, King Sunny Ade. In addition, a record breaking nomination features the South African movie titled ‘Surviving Gaza’; and Ghana’s ‘Borga’ snagged up 14 nominations each out of the 26 enlisted categories, while Tanzania’s official Oscar submissin ‘Tug of War’ followed the lead with 12 nominations, and Uganda’s official Oscar submission ‘Tembele’ along with Nigerian’s ‘Man of God’ received 9 nominations in different categories.
However, other top contenders for the awards include, ‘Jolly Roger’ with nominations in eight categories, ‘Swallow’ with seven nominations from the enlisted categories.
