Suspected herdsmen savagely m8rdered a female farmer in the Ondo community.

Assailants posing as herders brutally murdered a farmer, Mrs. Rabiat Atere, in Oka-Akoko, Akoko South-West Local Government area, Ondo State.

On Monday, June 23, the deceased, who was from Uba in Oka-Akoko, was allegedly attacked and killed while tending to her property.

Later, her lifeless body was found and brought to an Iwaro-Oka morgue.

Her n@k3d body is seen on the property in a video that LIB saw, with what appear to be machete wounds.

News reporters were informed of the development on Wednesday by a source.

"The incident did indeed occur. She was transferred to a mortuary in Iwaro after her lifeless corpse was found, according to the source.

Residents of the village are incensed over the unfortunate event, especially the young people who are part of the Akoko Youth Forum (AYF), who strongly denounced the k!lling.

Ibukun-Oluwa Akeju, the National President of AYF, stated in a statement:

"The horrific and sad killing of Mrs. Rabiat Atere, a peaceful farmer and native of Ajo Quarter in Uba Oka Community, who was allegedly attacked and murdered while tending to her farm, is strongly condemned by the Akoko Youth Forum," Akeju stated.

"This horrific act, purportedly committed by suspected Fulani attackers, is a direct assault on our people's safety and tranquility, a threat we can no longer accept."

Akeju criticized the absence of a quick security reaction following the murder, pointing out that no security had been sent to the scene since the police had removed the victim's body.

"It is extremely concerning that no security presence has been established in the community after the tragedy and the Nigeria Police's evacuation of her body. He claimed that without guarantees of justice or safety, our people are now forced to live in constant fear.

In order to guarantee that the offenders are apprehended and prosecuted and that peace and security are restored to the impacted areas, the AYF urged security authorities, traditional leaders, and pertinent stakeholders to take these actions.

To stop similar incidents in the future, concrete steps must be implemented. The Akoko Youth Forum will not remain silent as our people endure bloodshed, violence, and terror. We call for prompt action, victim justice, and strong security measures from the government," the group continued.
