On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at a little past 11 a.m., the peace and safety of Enyimba TV and Radio Limited were violently disrupted when stern-looking, unidentified men that stormed our premises in six buses.

These men suspected to be from the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA), harassed and intimidated our staff, threatening to physically assault them. From their menacing appearance and aggressive approach, our staff initially mistook them for hired thugs.

However, our attention has since been drawn to a press statement signed by One Chibuzo Amaechi, Head of Information Unit/PRO of GADA, confirming that the invading team was indeed from GADA.

Unfortunately, there have been attempts to drag the Police into this matter, but video and audio recordings in our possession shows otherwise. Those that invaded our premises are GADA officials.

It must be noted that our permanent site, currently under construction, was unlawfully locked by GADA—an agency of the Abia State Government—despite our full compliance with all legal requirements, including payment of statutory fees and obtaining necessary permissions. This prompted us to seek legal redress.

On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, the High Court of Abia State, sitting in Aba issued a clear order in Suit No: A/137/2025. Paragraph 2 of that order states, verbatim:

“𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 2𝘯𝘥, 3𝘳𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 4𝘵𝘩 𝘋𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴—Aba 𝘕𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘈𝘣𝘢 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘈𝘣𝘢 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵—𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘴 𝘲𝘶𝘰 𝘣𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘯 𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦.”

The case was adjourned to October 7, 2025.

By storming our premises on August 12, 2025, GADA blatantly violated this binding court order, which arose from a suit we initiated. This is a direct affront to the judiciary and an undeniable act of contempt.

It should further be noted that since the mysterious fire incident of November 2, 2024, which devastated our operations, our three radio stations have been struggling to remain on air—operating from the burnt-out section of our temporary site under extremely harsh and unconducive conditions.

To make matters worse, during today’s illegal invasion, GADA’s operatives traumatised the young participants of our ongoing Summer Broadcast Academy, shouting within earshot of children who were there to learn and develop their skills.

This reckless and dangerous conduct not only endangered lives but also inflicted emotional harm on minors.

Enyimba TV and Radio Limited condemns in the strongest possible terms this brazen disobedience of a subsisting court order, the unlawful intimidation of our staff, and the endangerment of innocent children.

We caution that no amount of harassment, intimidation, or attempt to twist the truth will prevent the truth from coming out—and we have the evidence to prove it.

We remain steadfast in our mission to serve our audience. No act of intimidation will deter us, and our people-oriented programmes will continue unhindered. We will not be silenced.
