Oluyede has been confirmed as Chief of Defense Staff by the Senate

 

General Olufemi Oluyede was confirmed as the Chief of Defense Staff by the Senate on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, Oluyede and other recently appointed service heads made their Senate appearance at the National Assembly for screening.

Around ten in the morning, the nominees and a number of senior military officers arrived at the National Assembly Complex.

After a quick screening under strict security, Oluyede was cleared about an hour after his arrival.
