(Read) Tragic d3ath of a blogger who claimed to have been "cured" of breast cancer at the age of 39

Only a few months after declaring to her fans that she was "cured," a well-known livestreamer who shared her fight with cancer online has passed away.

Chen Meiying, a 39-year-old mother of one, fought triple-negative breast cancer for a year before passing away on October 12.

Her life was entirely turned upside down by her diagnosis in 2024, which led her to shut down her modest clothes store and watch as her family's resources were depleted by growing medical expenses.

In order to raise money, she started livestreaming on the social media site TikTok, where she would perform traditional music while being filmed.

Meiying, a native of Chongqing, China, shocked her audience on April 16 when she said that she was "cured" after taking out her IV line.

However, the disease returned after only two months and quickly expanded to her internal mammary lymph nodes and bones.

Doctors informed her that there were only therapies to prolong her life, not a cure.

Meiying persisted in her daily duties despite her deteriorating health. Meiying's greatest source of inspiration was her teenage daughter, who was in her senior year of high school. Despite her discomfort, Meiying persisted in running the school.

On September 26, she was admitted to the hospital once more after sharing her last post on September 22. Meiying passed away on October 12 and was buried a few days later in her hometown.

Her elderly mother survives her.
