American rapper Rod Wave has reportedly been arrested in Atlanta on the very same day he received his first-ever Grammy nomination.
According to TMZ, the rapper, whose real name is Rodarius Green, was taken into custody and booked on multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.
Authorities said officers responded to a domestic disturbance call, which later uncovered evidence of a burglary and a discharged firearm. Rod Wave is said to have turned himself in voluntarily and was released shortly after posting bond. Police confirmed that the case remains under investigation.
Ongoing Legal Troubles
This marks Rod Wave’s second arrest in 2025. Back in May, he was taken into custody in Fulton County on separate charges that his legal team strongly denied. His lawyers have also disputed previous firearm-related allegations, insisting the artist is “not a convicted felon.”
Grammy Recognition Amid Legal Drama
Despite his ongoing legal issues, the Florida-born rapper achieved a major career milestone earning his first Grammy nomination for his track “Sinners.”
The emotional record, featured in the soundtrack of the horror-action film “Sinners,” was nominated in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category. Fans have since flooded social media with mixed reactions some celebrating his recognition, while others expressed concern over his latest arrest.
