Big Brother Naija reality TV star, Queen Mercy Atang, has finally confirmed the crash of her one-year marriage to her husband, David Oyekanmi.
The single mother of one got married to Oyekanmi in March 2024, following a widely publicised dispute with her baby daddy, skit maker Lord Lamba.
Barely months after the wedding, rumours of a marital crisis began circulating after Queen Mercy unfollowed her husband on Instagram and also deleted their wedding photos from her page.
At the time, she dismissed the reports, saying:
“I was trying to take my marriage off social media and reduce some of the things I put out there.”
However, in a new development on Wednesday, the former BBNaija Shine Ya Eye housemate officially confirmed her separation while responding to a fan’s comment on Instagram.
Queen Mercy had shared a new photo of herself from actress Mercy Aigbe’s mother’s burial ceremony last week. Reacting to the post, a fan identified as @makachrist commented:
“Queen, hope you are still married because asa, you are too beautiful to be single.”
In her brief but telling response, the reality star wrote:
“Single and unavailable.”
Her response has since confirmed months of speculation surrounding the status of her marriage to David Oyekanmi, sparking massive reactions across social media.
