Award-winning record producer Rexxie has stirred controversy after claiming that popular singer Seyi Vibez is an “industry plant,” alleging that his rise to stardom was carefully orchestrated.
Speaking during a recent TikTok livestream, the Abracadabra crooner asserted that Seyi Vibez’s success did not happen organically but was the result of strategic planning by individuals backing his career.
According to Rexxie, attempts were also made by Seyi Vibez and his team to engineer a public rivalry with fellow singer Asake for clout, but the move allegedly failed after Asake declined to engage.
“Seyi Vibez’ blow was an orchestration and a bit of divine arrangement,” Rexxie said. “It was orchestrated in the sense that those behind him planned it. It was well-planned. Let’s not deceive ourselves.
“Seyi Vibez and his team even tried to force a beef with Asake but got snubbed. I don’t want to go into details, but it is understandable that his blow was orchestrated.”
As of the time of filing this report, Seyi Vibez has yet to respond to Rexxie’s allegations.
The claims have since sparked heated debates online, with fans divided over whether success in the Nigerian music industry is purely organic or strategically engineered.
