Tricycle riders popularly known as keke riders, commenced as indefinite strike as a result of the imposed daily tax of #100 by the state government, Kano State.
As imposed by the state government, a group known as The Kano Roads and Traffic Agency (KAROTA), enforced the daily tax.
The riders see this as extortion and embarked on a strike. Due to this act, school children and works trek down to their respective destination and most streets deserted with only bus, cars seen on the road.
