75-yr-old Man Who Raped And Impregnated 13-year-old Girl Detained, Anambra State.
A 75-year-old man, who allegedly raped and impregnated a 13-year-old girl put in his custody, has been remanded in prison by a Chief Magistrate's Court sitting in Awka, Anambra State.
The suspect was arrested on Sunday night, December 11, same day the Ministry of Women and Social Welfare rescued the teenager, who was recently delivered of a baby.
He was on Wednesday arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Court, Awka, presided over by Chief Magistrate Genevieve Osakwe.
He was arraigned on three counts of defilement, carnal knowledge, emotional, verbal and psychological abuse.
The court, however, refused bail for the defendant and ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody.
