Gospel singer Oluwatimileyin Ajayi was found guilty of k?lling corps member Salome Adaidu and sentenced to d#ath by hanging.


Oluwatimileyin Ajayi was sentenced to death by hanging by the High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State, for the murder of Salome Adaidu, a member of the National Youth Service Corps.

Ajayi was found guilty by Justice Simon Aboki of k!lling and humiliating Adaidu.

Near a church in Orozo, a border town between Nasarawa and Abuja, on Sunday, January 12, 2025, Oluwatimileyin, a gospel musician, fitness enthusiast, and content producer who inspires his followers on social media, was seen carrying a sac containing the severed head of Salome.

Following his arrest, he guided authorities to the little pieces of Salome's body that were still there.

He was taken into custody and accused of one count of culpable homicide, which is punishable by death under Section 221 of the Northern Nigerian Penal Code.

Timileyin Ajayi performed a religious performance in court as the proceedings got underway. He was captured on camera praying while seated during a court hearing.

Justice Simon Aboki said on Thursday, June 26, that the evidence demonstrated Ajayi's guilt for the horrific act and that the prosecution had proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Ajayi was then given a hanging death sentence.
