President Trump demands that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's corruption conviction be dismissed.

US President Donald Trump has referred to the case against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a "witch-hunt" and demanded that Israel either forgive him or cancel his corruption trial.

Trump made the conversation on Wednesday on behalf of his close Israeli ally, who was charged with bribery, fraud, and breach of trust in Israel in 2019.

"EXCITING NEWS I was taken aback to learn that the State of Israel, which recently experienced one of its greatest moments in history and is firmly under the leadership of Bibi Netanyahu, is pursuing their great wartime prime minister in an absurd witch hunt! Trump posted on Truth Social in a long piece.

Bibi could not have been better, sharper, or greater in his LOVE for the amazing Holy Land, the US president said, adding that he and Netanyahu "just went through HELL together, fighting a very tough and brilliant longtime enemy of Israel, Iran."

"Anyone else would have experienced pandemonium, humiliation, and losses! Trump asserted, "Bibi Netanyahu was a WARRIOR, perhaps unlike any other Warrior in Israel's history." "The outcome was something that no one believed was feasible: the total eradication of what may be one of the largest and most devastating nuclear weapons in the world, and it was about to happen, QUICKLY! No one in Israel's history has battled more valiantly or skillfully than Bibi Netanyahu, and we were actually battling for Israel's survival.

Trump echoed Netanyahu's remarks about the trial and his own about the criminal cases and legal difficulties he has had when he added, "For a man who has given so much, such a WITCH HUNT, is unthinkable to me."

Trump went on, "Bibi Netanyahu has done so much for the State that his trial should be CANCELLED, IMMEDIATELY, or a Great Hero should be pardoned."

Israel was saved by the United States of America, and now Bibi Netanyahu will be saved by the same institution. He came to the conclusion that this "travesty of justice" could not be permitted.

Netanyahu was the first Israeli prime leader to testify as a defendant in a corruption criminal prosecution in December. The accusations against him, he said, were a "ocean of absurdity."

In three different incidents, he was accused of receiving bribes, fraud, and breach of trust.

The 75-year-old is charged with promoting advantageous regulation for media moguls in exchange for favorable coverage of himself and his family, as well as accepting tens of thousands of dollars' worth of cigars and champagne from a billionaire Hollywood producer in exchange for helping him with personal and business interests.

He denies any wrongdoing, claiming the accusations are a witch hunt planned by a corrupt legal system and hostile media to overthrow his long-standing reign.
