Due to suspected fraud, the EFCC has declared an ex-Abia commissioner and another wanted.

Due to accusations of criminal conspiracy, theft, money laundering, and diversion of public monies, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has proclaimed Abia resident Fortune Ozoemela and former Abia State Government commissioner Christopher Enweremadu wanted.

The statement was made by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale in a public notice that was published on the commission's website on Wednesday, September 3. Under former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Enweremadu was the commissioner for chieftaincy and local government matters. The Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Umuahia, Abia State, was his final known address.

The last known residence of 40-year-old Abia State native Ozoemela is 122 Ozoemila's Compound, Amakama Olokoro, Umuahia. If you know where they are, please contact any of the EFCC's zonal offices, which include those in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, or Abuja, Oyewale said.

Specific information on the transactions connected to Enweremadu was not included in the EFCC notice. He is, nevertheless, linked to an inquiry into how money given to Abia's 17 local government councils is being managed.
