Amusement "International recognition is not something I'm desperate for." Olamide

Identifying his audience was crucial, according to Nigerian native rapper Olamide Adedeji, better known by his stage name Olamide, who has opened up about his approach to the music business. The crooner of "Local Rapper" clarified that he is content to be an indigenous musician and that he is not in a desperate attempt to gain recognition abroad.

Olamide said he would not alter his approach or sound to appeal to a Western audience in a recent interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra.

"You must determine who your audience is. The rest of the world will eventually catch up once you have determined who your audience is. It is imperative that I remain loyal to myself in this world, regardless of the circumstances or location.

"I feel at ease in my own skin. I'm proud of my Yoruba and Naija heritage, as well as my H-Factor. "You simply must remain loyal to yourself," he replied.
