Imo State police Officers suspected of engaging in cult activities (Watch Video)

Officers under the Imo State Police Command have been named by the command for allegedly participating in cult activities.

A few days ago, a video was posted on social media that showed several of the officers holding placards associated with a specific cult group. Many people condemned the officers for their actions. In a statement issued right away, the state police headquarters said that an inquiry had begun to identify the policemen involved.

The command has identified the officers as Inspector Obinna Peter, Corporal Amaechi Augustine, and Corporal Ejikeme Victor in response to the directive of Imo State Command Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, ordering a thorough investigation into the viral video showing officers engaging in unprofessional conduct, according to an update released last night by the command's spokesperson, SP Henry Okoye.

According to Okoye, the Command has begun a comprehensive investigation into the officers' alleged involvement in cultism and associated activities, and they have been arrested and are currently being held. As a result, Monday has been set aside for the start of an Orderly Room Trial.

The statement goes on to say that the behavior seen in the widely shared video is extremely unprofessional and does not represent the ideals, ethics, or discipline of the Nigeria Police Force.

It further stated that the Command is still dedicated to maintaining professionalism, responsibility, and openness in the performance of its responsibilities and that the public will be informed of the Orderly Room Trial's verdict in due time.
