(Read) According to reports, US President Trump may commute Diddy's sentence this week.

US As early as this week, President Donald Trump may commute Sean "Diddy" Combs' sentence.

The 55-year-old musician, who was cleared of accusations of sex trafficking and racketeering, faces 50 months in prison for two charges of transportation for the purpose of prostitution.

TMZ reported that a senior White House official told the publication that the president would reduce Diddy's sentence of 50 months in jail as early as this week.

While some White House personnel are advising Trump not to proceed, the insider adds that Trump is allegedly "vacillating" on the decision and that "Trump will do what he wants."

Diddy might be released without credit in almost two years after serving 13 months for breaking the Mann Act, but a commutation would completely overturn that.

A top White House official close to Trump was reportedly approached by Diddy's legal team to discuss the prospect of a pardon or commutation following his imprisonment earlier this month.

Trump officially admitted a few days later that he was aware of the request.

Trump stated, "I have had a lot of people ask me for pardons," on October 6. "I call him Puff Daddy, he has asked me for a pardon."

The announcement follows last Friday, October 18, when Trump commuted the sentence of former Congressman George Santos. Santos had been incarcerated for 87 months for aggravated identity theft and wire fraud.
