The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has congratulated Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo on his resounding and historic victory in the November 8, 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Ejimofor Opara, and made available to journalists, APGA described the victory as a “clear, unequivocal, and overwhelming mandate” from the people of Anambra State.
According to Opara, Governor Soludo’s triumph winning 73 percent of the total votes cast and securing victories in 98 percent of the state’s 326 electoral wards reflects the people’s renewed confidence in his visionary leadership and commitment to transforming Anambra into a liveable and prosperous homeland.
“This landslide triumph is not merely an electoral outcome; it is a referendum on performance, a celebration of progressive governance, and a reaffirmation of APGA as the true political identity of Ndi Igbo and the custodian of Anambra’s development aspirations,” Opara said.
The party also commended the security agencies for their professionalism and vigilance, noting that their presence ensured a peaceful and orderly electoral process.
APGA further expressed gratitude to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for fostering an atmosphere of peace, fairness, and responsibility throughout the election, as well as to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a transparent and credible exercise that truly reflected the will of the people.
However, the party expressed sadness over the tragic killing of Mr. Francis Onyeka Ibe, a Councillor of Owerre-Ezukala and leader of the Orumba South Council, who was shot dead by gunmen shortly after casting his vote.
“As Governor Soludo embarks on his second term, APGA reiterates its commitment to providing leadership that works for all building institutions, deepening democracy, expanding economic opportunities, and safeguarding the future of every Anambra son and daughter,” the statement added.
Concluding, APGA said the victory represents a new chapter for Anambra State, pledging to continue building a state that is liveable, prosperous, globally competitive, and exemplary in governance.
