Australian Politician Resigns a Day After Daughter Appears in OnlyFans Reality Series

Australian politician and NSW Nationals leader Dugald Saunders has announced his immediate resignation—just one day after his 19-year-old daughter appeared in a controversial reality TV series about OnlyFans creators.

Saunders, the Member for Dubbo, informed colleagues of his decision on Monday before releasing an official statement to the media.
He described the move as a difficult but necessary step.

“It’s a difficult decision, but it is the right time for me to take a step back and focus more on my family and myself,” he said.

Daughter Featured in ‘Spicy Summer’ OnlyFans Documentary

His daughter, Charlie Saunders, who uses the name Willow Rae / Willow Ray online, is one of the four women featured in Spicy Summer, a six-part reality series exploring the rise of OnlyFans and “pornstar influencers.”

The documentary, filmed across Sydney’s eastern suburbs, premiered on Sunday.

In the series, Charlie introduces herself as a 19-year-old from regional NSW and openly discusses her decision to join the adult-content platform.

“I can do what I want, and I’m a legal consenting adult,” she says in the show.

Her OnlyFans bio previously described her as “the girl next door if next door’s a farm.” The account has since been deleted.

Family Denies Link Between Resignation and Daughter’s Documentary Feature

A spokesperson for Dugald Saunders insisted that his resignation had “nothing to do” with his daughter’s appearance in the OnlyFans-focused documentary, calling the timing a coincidence.

Charlie Saunders Opens Up About Bullying and Mental Health

In Spicy Summer, Charlie reveals that she turned to the adult industry after years of bullying in high school.

She recalled being mocked for her body size, which led to depression and feelings of unworthiness.

“When I got my first subscriber on OnlyFans, it was the first time in my life I felt pretty,” she said.

Charlie also commented on how social media has normalised adult content creation and claimed many older women are “jealous” because the platform didn’t exist during their youth.

Limited Opportunities in the Country

Describing herself as a proud country girl, she explained that financial opportunities in rural areas are limited.

“You could work at the pub or a local shop, but you’re only going to make basic money,” she said.
“Influencers show me I don’t have to settle in life.”

Political Impact and What Comes Next

Despite the controversy, The Australian reported that there were no internal plans to challenge Saunders’ leadership in the upcoming parliamentary sitting week.

Opposition Leader Mark Speakman praised Saunders’ service:

“Dugald Saunders has been a tireless advocate for the Dubbo electorate and regional NSW.”

NSW Nationals MPs are scheduled to meet at 8:30 AM on Tuesday to vote on a new party leader.
