Falz Demands Public Hearing Over Poor Military Funding Despite Billions Budgeted for Ammunition

Nigerian rapper and activist, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has called for an urgent public hearing to investigate the Federal Government’s failure to properly equip the military despite the massive yearly budgets allocated for arms and ammunition.

Falz made the demand on Monday in reaction to the rising insecurity across the country, describing the current situation as “a national security emergency.”

Falz: Citizens Must Pressure Lawmakers

In a trending video shared online, Falz urged Nigerians to hold their elected representatives accountable.
He encouraged “every citizen to contact their Reps and senators with coordinated emails, phone calls and WhatsApp messages” to demand answers from government officials.

“Why Is the Military Still Ill-Equipped?” Falz

Speaking further, Falz questioned why the military continues to suffer avoidable losses despite billions being released annually for military hardware.

He said:

“We need to call for a public hearing, broadcast on live TV and livestreamed for anybody anywhere in the world to watch. So many billions and billions being budgeted and released for acquisition of arms and ammunition  but what’s happening?
Why is the military still ill-equipped? Why are military convoys still being ambushed by criminals? Why was an army general murdered on video?”

Call for Transparent Investigation

Falz urged Nigerians to push for an emergency public hearing to address:

The strategy for defeating terrorism

Allegations of an ill-equipped military

How citizens will be kept safe amid rising attacks

He stressed that transparency is essential to uncover the truth behind Nigeria’s repeated failures in combating insecurity.
