Miss Universe 2025: Contestants Stage Walkout in Thailand After Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch Was Publicly Humiliated

Tension erupted at the Miss Universe 2025 pre-pageant ceremony in Thailand after several contestants reportedly staged a walkout to protest the alleged public humiliation of Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch, by a top pageant official.

According to reports, the incident occurred when Nawat Itsaragrisil, an official representing the host nation, Thailand, openly called Miss Mexico “dumb” for failing to post a sponsor’s promotional content on her social media page.

Sources at the venue revealed that Bosch attempted to explain herself, but Nawat allegedly became more aggressive, calling security and threatening to disqualify any contestant who supported her.

The confrontation quickly spiraled into chaos, with Miss Mexico storming out of the event in tears  a move that prompted other contestants to walk out in solidarity.

Miss Mexico Speaks Out

In a viral video recorded outside the event venue, Fatima Bosch expressed her disappointment over the way she was treated, describing Nawat’s behavior as “disrespectful” and “undermining” to women.

“As a country, you have all my respect. I truly love Thailand. You are amazing people. But what your director did is not respectful,” Bosch said emotionally.
“He called me dumb and told me to shut up. I think the world needs to see this because we are empowered women. This is a platform for our voice.”

Her statement quickly gained traction online, sparking global reactions from fans, feminist groups, and pageant followers who have called for an investigation into the incident.

Growing Backlash and Calls for Accountability

The dramatic walkout has since divided the Miss Universe community, with many calling on the Miss Universe Organization to take immediate action and issue a public statement.

Pageant enthusiasts have criticized the Thai host official for his comments, arguing that such behavior undermines the values of respect, diversity, and empowerment that the global pageant stands for.

As of press time, the Miss Universe Organization has not released an official response to the controversy, while social media remains flooded with hashtags like #StandWithMexico and #MissUniverse2025.
