“I’m excited about this Grammy nomination haha but fr fr I don’t give a sh!t about awards. Yeah, but I really want it for OBO! He is the realest friend I’ve had in a while, he stood by me during my hardest times,”

Davido, despite being one of Africa’s biggest music exports, has yet to win a Grammy Award. The singer has received four nominations so far, including two in the Best African Music Performance category, which was introduced in 2023 to recognize outstanding contributions to the growing Afrobeats genre.
The 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony is set to take place on February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, and will be broadcast globally on CBS and streamed live on Paramount+.
This year’s nominations have once again highlighted Nigeria’s dominance in African music, with top stars like Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Wizkid, and Tyla also making the list in major global categories.
