Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway has spoken publicly for the first time about her half-brother, Marius Borg Høiby, ahead of his upcoming criminal trial.
In an interview published by NRK on November 2, the 21-year-old royal addressed the sensitive topic involving her brother, who faces serious allegations in Norway.
According to reports, Marius, 28, is scheduled to stand trial in February 2026, facing allegations of r@ping four women, as well as other charges including domestic violence and assault. He was previously charged with 32 criminal offenses one year after his initial arrest and could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
Speaking from the University of Sydney in Australia, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Princess Ingrid Alexandra admitted the ordeal has been tough on her and her family.
“Of course, it’s difficult. Both for those of us who are around, for me as a sister, and for mom and dad. And, of course, for everyone affected by the case,” she said, according to NRK’s English translation.
When asked about dealing with the situation from abroad, she chose to remain private, saying:
“Yes, it is... I don’t know if I want to go into it much more than that.”
Princess Ingrid Alexandra is the daughter of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, making her second in line to the Norwegian throne.
Her mother, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, 52, welcomed Marius during a relationship prior to her marriage to Crown Prince Haakon in 2001.
