Regina Daniels Reveals Her Mother Warned Against Marriage to Ned Nwoko, Says She Fell in Love

Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Regina Daniels, has opened up about her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko, revealing that her mother, Rita Daniels, initially warned her against the union — but she ignored the advice because she was deeply in love.

In a heartfelt video shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, Regina pleaded with Nigerians to stop insulting her mother amid her ongoing marital crisis.

“The main essence of this video is to please, stop insulting my mom. For some reason, I feel like I owe you all this explanation because I don’t know why everyone is in pain about my life,” she said.

The actress explained that her mother had been supportive and protective for years, enduring public criticism over Regina’s marriage decisions.

“Please, stop insulting my mom. She’s the best thing that ever happened to me. She is my god on earth. She’s been strong for seven years. My mom held it down. She tried. You all insulted her. But she tried. It’s me. I’m the one with the coconut head. I’m so ashamed to say I fell in love. But I actually really did,” she confessed.

Regina also refuted widespread claims that she married Senator Nwoko for money, clarifying that her family was not struggling financially at the time.

“And you all stop saying I got married out of greed. Excuse me. No. We were not broke. Does that make sense? What money can a man give to a mother to get her child, who practically provides everything in the house?” she questioned.

The 24-year-old mother of two went further to reveal that the intense pressure and backlash from her marriage once pushed her to the brink of suicide, but she is now determined to remain strong and continue fighting for the well-being of her children.
