According to the award-winning cinematographer, the situation escalated after a digital magazine reportedly accused him of using the controversy to promote his line of glasses. TG Omori stated that the publication’s portrayal has exposed him to danger and misrepresented his intentions.
In a post shared on X, he wrote that he has been receiving death threats day and night, claiming the article published by @Zikoko_Mag has placed him at risk.
“This is a media house trying to set me up and risk my life by gaslighting a global community they serve to blacklist me for speaking my truth in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.
He added that he has been facing threats to his safety and security as a citizen ever since the article went live.
