Speed Darlington Sparks Debate With Comments on Women, Wealth, and Submission

Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington has stirred controversy online after advising men not to allow their wives or partners to be richer than them.

The rapper made the remarks during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, where he claimed that women who are wealthier than their partners find it difficult to be submissive in marriage.

Despite admitting that he has never been married, Speed Darlington argued that rich women generally dislike submission and may only pretend to be submissive in order to get married.

“You cannot tell me that a woman that is worth multi millions will be submissive to her husband. I don’t believe that. Power does not like to submit,” he said.

“I am not very rich, but I am still proud of the little I have.”

Using hypothetical examples, the rapper insisted that financial power makes submission impossible.

“Now, imagine a wealthy woman who has a house in Lagos and in the village. She definitely can’t be submissive. She can say that to just get married, but deep down, she will never be submissive,” he claimed.

Speed Darlington further urged men to ensure they earn more than their partners to avoid future problems in relationships and marriages.

“There will be issues if your woman makes more money than you as a man. It is going to be a problem. Try your best as a man to not allow your woman to be richer than you,” he said.

“If she does, she will be aggressive and never be submissive.”

The rapper also stated his personal preference for submissive and supportive women, distancing himself from rich and independent partners.

According to him, a submissive woman would support her man, while a rich and independent woman would see him as competition.

His comments have since triggered widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians debating his views on gender roles, wealth, and relationships.
