Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has revealed that he wants fellow Nigerian star Asake to perform at his wedding.
The Starboy boss made the disclosure during a recent appearance on Apple Music radio alongside DJ Tunez, where he spoke about his admiration for Asake’s music.
Wizkid shared that Asake’s hit song “Omo Ope” made him a fan, but his favorite track is “Remember”, which he hopes will be performed at his wedding.
In his words:
“‘Omo Ope’ made me an Asake fan from the first listen. But my favorite Asake song is ‘Remember’, I think you have to play that one on my wedding day. It is an amazing record. You [Asake] are amazing, you have one of the most special voices from home [Africa] and in the world. I have told you that like a million times and I am saying it again on radio. You are a blessing to African music.”
Wizkid described Asake as one of the most talented vocalists in Africa and praised his contribution to African music.
The singer is currently in a relationship with his third baby mama and manager, Japa P. The couple share three children together, including two boys and a girl.
Fans have been eagerly anticipating Wizkid’s wedding for years, and his latest revelation has added excitement to the speculation.
