Young John Fires Back at Critics Accusing Him of Being “Monotonous”

Nigerian singer and producer John Saviours Udomboso, widely known as Young John, has spoken out against critics who have been downplaying his talent and hard work.

The “Dada” crooner has been facing a wave of backlash recently, with some fans accusing him of sounding monotonous.
In response, Young John took to X to appeal for fairness, saying:

“If you’re not a fan of my work, leave it at that! Don’t come here and water down my years of hard work!”

He reminded critics that his journey has been long and intentional. Young John began his music career as a producer back in 2010, rising to fame through the YBNL family where he crafted several hits for Olamide and other artists.

After signing a recording deal with Chocolate City in 2022, he transitioned fully into singing — a move that paid off as his single “Dada” became a fan favourite. The remix featuring Davido propelled him even further into mainstream success.

Despite the noise, Young John appears determined to stay focused on his craft and continue evolving as an artist.
