JAMB Releases 279 Withheld UTME Results After Investigation Into Exam Malpractice
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released 279 previously withheld 2026 UTME results following the conclusion of investigations into suspected examination malpractice.
According to JAMB, the released results are part of the ongoing review of candidates flagged during the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The examination body stated that some candidates were cleared after investigations showed no evidence of malpractice, leading to the release of their results. However, results linked to confirmed cases of exam misconduct have been cancelled.
JAMB also revealed that results from centres monitored for suspicious activities are still under investigation. The Board warned that any candidate found guilty of malpractice will have their UTME result cancelled.
Candidates whose UTME results are yet to be released have been advised to check their status by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during JAMB registration.
The latest update comes as thousands of candidates continue to monitor the status of their 2026 JAMB UTME results nationwide.
