Iran subtly threatens Trump with "d3ath."

After a prominent cleric stated that attacking Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, is a serious offense under Islam that carries a death sentence, Iran has subtly threatened former US President Donald Trump with death.

Trump had called Khamenei an easy target when he told reporters, "We are not going to take him out — at least not for now," over two weeks prior.

Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, a well-known cleric from Qom, responded by issuing a religious decree that did not specifically mention Trump. Iran's official news agency, IRNA, claims that a follower explicitly questioned Shirazi on Trump's remarks.

According to him, under Islamic law, anyone who attacks or threatens an Islamic government or its religious leaders is considered a Mohareb, or enemy of God, and such acts are punishable by death. He went on to say that Muslims have an obligation to hold these "enemies" responsible.

Shirazi underlined that people who punish the adversaries of Islamic governments and leaders are considered holy warriors and are guaranteed heavenly blessings under Islamic principles.
