The early-morning assault on worshippers at a mosque in Na'alma village, Malumfashi Local Government Area, Katsina State, has been denounced by human rights organization Amnesty International.

According to the group, the attack occurred less than two months after gunmen in Unguwan Mantau, Malumfashi, massacred more than fifty people in another mosque attack.

It issued a warning that the government's persistent inaction on the matter only serves to increase impunity and make rural people constantly fearful of more attacks.
