1. In response to public outcry after the initial clemency list was made public on October 11, President Bola Tinubu has revoked the pardon previously given to 175 prisoners, including drug dealers, kidnappers, and fraudsters. At the October 9, 2025, National Council of State meeting, the President issued an order to reconsider the pardon that had been granted.

2. On Wednesday, Nigeria's recently appointed Service Chiefs promised to restructure the country's security framework through enhanced personnel welfare, interagency cooperation, indigenous armaments manufacturing, and strategic foreign alliances. Following a motion made by Osuobeni Akponimisingha, the attorney for the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission, Justice Emeka Nwite issued the ruling.

6. President Bola Tinubu's request to borrow $2.35 billion to partially pay the 2025 budget deficit has been approved by the House of Representatives. Additionally, it approved the President's request to diversify Nigeria's funding sources and finance infrastructure projects by issuing a $500 million debut sovereign sukuk on the global financial market.

Public university teaching and non-academic staff salary backlogs and promotion arrears are anticipated to be settled with the cash.

9. Sunday Akande was sentenced to four years in jail by an Ibadan Federal High Court for selling two grams of methamphetamine and 360 grams of cannabis.
