According to legal expert and observer Frank Tietie, the president cannot revoke a pardon after it has been granted.
In a DAILY POST-monitored interview on Arise Television on Wednesday, Tietie revealed this.
He was responding to President Bola Tinubu's decision to reverse the pardons that had been given to those convicted of a number of offenses.

According to a post made, President Tinubu on Wednesday lowered Maryam Sanda's death sentence to 12 years in jail.
"If we had a listening president in power, he would have reversed the removal of fuel subsidies and increased tariffs," Tietie responded.
When the president initially signed the first list, it was a whole act that he was powerless to undo. It had already been approved.
The president has no authority to convict anybody. By the time he finished pardoning these individuals, they were all at liberty.
"The judiciary is not the president. He cannot use his legal authority to declare that you are no longer deserving of forgiveness. It is beyond of his constitutional authority.
