According to Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate in the general election of 2023, the majority of Yahoo boys are brilliant and should be redirected rather than condemned.

When Obi spoke as a guest speaker at a youth-led convention in Onitsha, he said these things.

I explained to the young people that some of our so-called Yahoo lads are brilliant and should be redirected rather than condemned. Under the right direction, their bravery and inventiveness can spur innovation and the advancement of the country. In a statement issued, Obi stated, "Our challenge is to redirect their energy from deceit to productive enterprise."

Nigeria cannot achieve greatness while praising corruption and promoting dishonesty, he said. He made a comparison between the vices that are currently plaguing the political elite and those that are not.

Although money is important, he claimed that it only makes up a small portion of actual wealth, which is based on morality, purpose, and character.

According to Obi, "real wealth improves society and the individual, encourages education, lessens poverty, and gives others the chance to live honorable lives."

When the former governor of Anambra State arrived from the United Kingdom, he felt compelled to inspire many of the young people, so he decided to shorten his trip.

After Nigeria was left off of the IMF's list of Africa's top growth countries, Obi criticizes the leadership.

"I traveled straight to Onitsha and was happy to be a part of the event because it addressed the greed for material possessions, a vice that has undermined our values," Obi stated.

He said that Nigerians deserve justice and merit, regardless of whether they are Christians, Muslims, or traditional worshippers, and denounced violence that takes the shape of religious attacks.

I concluded by reminding everyone that no tribe or faith purchases food at a lower cost than another. Nigeria is endowed with a wealth of resources, but we lack the desire to act morally. His conclusion was that "our nation's greatness will naturally unfold once we embrace justice, fairness, and merit."
