Following the death of 23-year-old Stephanie Irons in Nottinghamshire, UK, a Nigerian man has been charged with murder.
Following the discovery of Stephanie's body on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Adedapo Adegbola, 40, of Mapperley's Woodborough Road, has been charged with one count of murder.
At 10.07 p.m. on Tuesday, police were called to a residence on Westdale Lane West in Mapperley after a woman's safety was questioned.

After emergency personnel discovered Stephanie, who her friends and family called Steph, dead, a murder inquiry was started.
Adegbola made his first court appearance in connection with the case on Saturday, October 25.
The 40-year-old made a brief appearance at Nottingham Magistrates' Court, speaking just to verify his identity and residence.

Adegbola was remanded in custody until his scheduled appearance at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday, October 27. He was shown in court wearing a black sneaker, gray jogging shorts, and a huge bandage up his left arm.
After being detained on suspicion of aiding an offender on Thursday, October 23, a 40-year-old woman was freed on stringent bail terms.
"This is a truly tragic incident, and our thoughts remain with Steph's family and friends, who have asked for privacy at what must be an extremely difficult time," stated Detective Inspector Stuart Barson, senior investigating officer, earlier.
