(Read) Because her husband neglected to clean the house, the woman used a kn?fe to assault him

In the US, an Indian-origin teacher assistant at an elementary school in North Carolina was jailed for reportedly using a knife to assault her husband over housecleaning.

According to an arrest warrant quoted by WBTV, the lady, identified as 44-year-old Chandraprabha Singh, was charged with "unlawfully, willfully, feloniously" slashing the neck of another person on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

According to police, the event happened at an apartment building on Foxhaven Drive in Charlotte, North Carolina's Ballantyne neighborhood.

Singh has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury. Singh works as a teacher aide for grades K–3 at Endhaven Elementary School.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), neither students nor personnel were involved in the incident, which did not take place on school property.

In the affidavit, the victim, who was identified as Singh's husband Arvind Singh, told police that his wife "purposely attacked him with the knife" after becoming irate that he hadn't cleaned the house.

Singh, however, provided an alternative account of what transpired. She allegedly told detectives that when her husband asked if he could help, she was making breakfast.

She said that she was upset about the dirty house and that she "accidentally" slashed her husband's neck when she turned around with the knife in her hand.

On October 12, just after 10:49 a.m., police arrived on the scene; by then, Arvind Singh had already been transported to the hospital due to a severe neck injury.

When Singh appeared in court on October 13, a magistrate who had previously refused her bond after her arrest set it at $10,000 and appointed her a public defender.

On Monday, she was freed from custody with restrictions that include not speaking to her husband and wearing an electronic monitoring device.

According to SSB Crack News, Singh has been placed on paid leave by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools district while the case is being handled.
