Shamseddin Giwa, a Nigerian marriage therapist, has spoken to men who insist that women have medical treatment during childbirth even though they don't want their wives to work or have a profession.

Using religion as an excuse, you told your wife not to go to work. In a Sunday Facebook post, he stated, "You got her pregnant, took her to the hospital, and began demanding female doctors to attend to her citing religion."

Which female doctors would treat your wife if their own spouses forbade them from working? Which female educators would you send to teach your daughters? You have nothing to do with religion. You are just wrongly oriented.”
