Ayra Starr confirms she has permanently relocated from Nigeria to New York City, saying the city feels like home and reminds her of Lagos.

 


Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Ayra Starr has officially confirmed that she has relocated from Nigeria to New York City, USA.

The 23-year-old “Rush” crooner revealed this during her recent interview on Hot 93.7FM’s Buck N Regg, where she spoke about her connection to the city and her reasons for moving.

According to Ayra Starr, she has always felt spiritually connected to New York.
She said:
“I live in New York now. I officially moved in less than two months ago. I’m always in New York regardless; it reminds me so much of Lagos. There are many Nigerians here, so it feels like home.”

The singer explained that although she initially felt unsure about relocating, something clicked during one of her performances.

“I was skeptical about moving here. I remember being on stage and feeling I might move here. It felt like a moment of surrender, and I was like, I really like it here.”

Ayra Starr added that she understands her purpose in her new environment:
“I know why I am here. I know my priorities. And I’m here for a good time.”
