Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Aituaje Iruobe, widely known as Waje, has opened up about her relationship preferences and what she looks for in a life partner.
Speaking during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, the award-winning vocalist revealed that she cannot date or marry a man who is financially struggling.
According to Waje, at age 45, she is no longer interested in starting from scratch or “building” with a man who doesn’t have his finances in order.
“I’m not in my 20s anymore. I don’t have the time or patience to build with a man. I need someone who’s already stable and knows where he’s going,” she said candidly.
The mother of one added that her expectations come from experience and maturity, emphasizing that emotional connection alone isn’t enough to sustain a relationship without financial balance and stability.
Waje’s revelation has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some social media users supporting her honesty, while others criticized her stance as being “too materialistic.”
