Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has expressed deep concern over Nigeria’s worsening security situation following the deadly terrorist attack in Kwara State and the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi.
DAILY POST reported that on Tuesday, terrorists attacked a church programme in Eruku, Ekiti LGA of Kwara State, leaving three people dead and abducting an unspecified number of worshippers. The tragedy occurred barely hours after 25 secondary school girls were kidnapped in Kebbi State on Monday, November 17, 2025.
The incidents have sparked widespread outrage, with some Nigerians — including celebrities — calling for President Bola Tinubu to resign over the government’s inability to protect lives.
Reacting in a lengthy emotional post on Instagram, Toyin Abraham joined other public figures in condemning the escalating violence. She wrote:
“How do we move past the heaviness in our hearts after watching the heartbreaking video of the attack in Kwara? How does any mother close her eyes at night knowing that 25 young girls have been stolen from their families, girls who should be safe, laughing, learning, dreaming?”
She described the fear mothers carry, noting that every report of violence feels like a personal wound:
“Terrorism and religious extremism are tearing at the fabric of our communities… These fanatics and terrorists are not just attacking villages, they are attacking the very idea of safety, childhood, and peace.”
The actress questioned how Nigerians can protect their children in a nation where cruelty seems to move “without fear or consequence.”
Her comments reflect a growing national frustration as kidnappings, bandit attacks, and extremist violence continue to claim lives across the country.
