Nigerian comedian and content creator, Carter Efe, has had his Twitch account temporarily suspended, just days after making history with a viral livestream featuring Afrobeats superstar Davido.
The widely publicised broadcast, which took place on December 17, 2025, attracted massive global attention and propelled Carter Efe to the top of Africa’s Twitch rankings. The livestream helped him amass over 405,000 followers, making him the most-followed African streamer on the platform.
However, on Monday, Carter Efe announced that Twitch had placed a four-month suspension on his account. According to him, the platform cited violations of its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines as the reason for the action, though no specific details were provided regarding the alleged breaches.
The suspension comes shortly after the comedian surpassed several prominent Nigerian streamers, including Shank Comics, and delivered one of Twitch’s most-viewed livestreams through his collaboration with Davido.
Following the announcement, fans flooded Carter Efe’s social media pages with messages of support, describing him as a “joy giver” and urging Twitch to reconsider or reverse the suspension.
Speculation online has suggested that the ban may have resulted from mass reporting linked to comments or conduct during the livestream. Meanwhile, reports claiming that Carter Efe was also banned from other digital platforms have since been debunked.
The development has left many fans disappointed, especially as it occurred during the festive season, with supporters hopeful for a swift and positive resolution.
