YouTube has unveiled its official 2025 Nigeria Year-in-Review, highlighting the music videos, creators, and entertainment content that shaped viewing habits among Nigerians throughout the year.
According to a statement released by YouTube’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, Addy Awofisayo, gospel singer Akinade “Gaise Baba” Ibuoye and Nollywood star Omoni Oboli emerged as the platform’s biggest breakout figures.

Gaise Baba dominated the music scene with his viral hit, “No Turning Back II” featuring Lawrence Oyor, which finished as the most-watched Nigerian music video of 2025.
Released in mid-May, the song spread rapidly across the country, amassing over 41 million views in six months and drawing massive fan engagement.
