Rap icon Nicki Minaj has revealed why she is a strong supporter of former United States President Donald Trump, describing herself as his “number one fan.”
Speaking on Wednesday, the Trinidadian-born rapper said that the criticism and hate directed at Trump only made her support him even more.
Nicki made the statement after Trump invited her on stage following her endorsement of the “Trump Accounts” initiative, a program aimed at providing trust funds for children.
She said:
“I will say that I am probably the president’s number one fan, and that’s not going to change. And the hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more.”
The 43-year-old star also stated that she would not stand by while Trump’s critics “bully” him, adding that she believes he has strong spiritual protection.
“He has a lot of force behind him and God is protecting him. Amen,” she added.
Nicki Minaj’s comments have since sparked mixed reactions online, with fans and critics debating her open support for the controversial political figure.
