Nigerian hip-hop star, Zlatan Ibile, has dismissed reports claiming that he vowed never to marry his longtime partner and baby mama, Davita Lamai.
The allegation was made by an X (formerly Twitter) user with the handle @BoutMoney, who claimed that Davita was in tears after Zlatan allegedly said he would never marry her despite them having two children together.
The post read:
“Zlatan’s wife (Davita Lamai) in tears as Zlatan Ibile said he will never marry her despite having two kids for him. What could be the reason?”
Reacting to the viral post, Zlatan described the report as fake news. He also criticized social media users who believe and spread unverified stories.
The rapper wrote:
“Y’all know I hate to shalaye. But if you’re still one of those who can’t differentiate or confirm before you engage an agenda post in 2026, you don’t deserve to have internet on your phone. This is fake! Banger boy, your time is coming soon.”
Zlatan further vowed to take legal action against the influencer responsible for spreading the false claim.
This comes shortly after the singer clarified his relationship status with Davita. Responding to a fan on Snapchat who referred to her as his wife, Zlatan stated:
“She is the mother of my kids, but she’s not my wife yet.”
The statement confirms that while Davita Lamai is his partner and mother of his children, they are not officially married.
