Unknown cart pusher was crushed to death at Goye by UBA in the Dopemu neighborhood of Lagos after being struck by a container truck that was completely filled with concrete stones.
The deadly accident happened on Sunday, May 28, 2023, according to staff members of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), who made this disclosure in a statement.
The victim died quickly, according to a LASTMA officer, Badmus Abdul-Akeem of Zone 32, Dopemu Akowonjo.
According to a preliminary assessment, the container's driver lost complete focus while driving at high speed beside another trailer before falling off the road and obstructing the entire BRT path into Dopemu.
He stated that while the truck's driver fled the scene, LASTMA officials were able to obtain a photocopy of his driver's license.
According to him, “After noticing a trapped body underneath a fallen container, we called the LASEMA Response Unit (LRU) and Police men from Gowon Divisional Police Headquarters for immediate rescue operations and investigations.
While LASEMA Response Unit (LRU) evacuated the fallen container off the brt corridor, the recovered dead was handed over to members of the Hausa community around Dopemu area after they mobilized themselves to scene of the accident to with dangerous weapons.“
