A 20-year-old Native doctor was arrested by Delta police after k?lling a customer and a motorcyclist and disposing of their bodies in his septic tank

Amechi Okwuokenye, a 20-year-old native doctor, has been detained by Delta State police for reportedly k?lling Friday Liberty, a 22-year-old repeat customer, and disposing of his body in a septic tank.

SP Bright Edafe, the command spokeswoman, stated in a statement that late Liberty departed his residence on September 30 and never retired as scheduled.

According to Edafe, the family began searching for their brother after first being unaware of his whereabouts.

According to the Police PRO, the deceased's girlfriend then told the family that she had overheard a discussion concerning the Friday liberty and a certain herbalist, and she suggested that they get in touch with the herbalist. The herbalist, who denied seeing him, agreed to do some spiritual incantations in order to ensure their brother's survival when the family called him. After paying the herbalist and not receiving a satisfactory response, they filed a petition on October 14, 2025, to the Agbor Area command. And as the area command detectives started an intelligence-led investigation, this choice turned out to be the case's pivotal moment.

Detectives discovered Friday Liberty's final contact during the course of the investigation, and it turned out to be the same herbalist who denied knowing his location. For days, his shrine at Owa-Alidima in Ika North East LGA was under surveillance, and on October 23, 2025, he was apprehended there while hiding inside a refrigerator. When 20-year-old herbalist Amechi Okwuokenye was arrested, he said that he and his 26-year-old brother, Smart Okwuokenye, had abducted the victim's freedom and the motorcyclist, Isioma Ugbeje, who had taken him to the shrine.

According to Edafe, the herbalist also claimed that late Liberty had been one of his regular clients, coming to him often to hypnotize people so they would readily give him money (or, as he put it, "to tie clients").

The herbalist claimed that after telling him that he was in need of money, his older brother suggested that he entice any of his customers so that they could kidnap him and demand a ransom. Liberty Friday was the unfortunate victim they chose to entice. They sought a ten million naira (N10,000,000) ransom after kidnapping him and the Okada Rider. They killed him and the motorcyclist and disposed of their remains in a soakaway pit near the shrine after realizing their scheme was failing.

The remains of the victims have been removed and placed in the mortuary for autopsy, Edafe continued, and the suspects are currently being held.
